LOS ANGELES (July 12, 2005) Over the next twenty-four hours, the Pittsburgh Local's convention delegates will arrive in this city, prepared to do the union's business. My arrival preceded that of the delegation so I can attend the National Board plenary meetings which start this morning. Delegates Alan Boal, Barbara Boylan, David Early and Dee Thompson are expected to arrive today and tomorrow. We also expect Jay Silvers, who is in L.A. on vacation, to act as an observer. Staff members John Haer and Chris Lacey will keep us in line. Elected delegates who were unable to attend are Susan Chapek, Anji Corley, Paul Martino, Gerry Scott and Adrienne Wehr. Their proxies were assigned to our other delegates. This space will contain a photo journal of our stay, as well as any pertinent information for our members as time permits.
