PITTSBURGH (June 25, 2006)  After a few minor setbacks, the Pittsburgh local moved into its new offices this weekend.  With ten years in our former location, and many more across the hall, we've moved again.  We must have a thing for the 20th floor, though.  Our new digs are right next door to the former office.  Our address will even remain the same.  The suite number is moving with us.

As the end of our lease approached, the Board tasked the staff to investigate potential locations for the AFTRA offices.  We have had a good relationship with the people at the 625 Stanwix property, but thought it proper to investigate all options.

Following a good deal of searching, and a great deal of surprise at the cost of downtown and suburban rental property, we were presented with an intereesting proposition by our current landlords.  Due to an unexpected situation, the offices next door to ours became available immediately.  Negotiations commenced, and were successfully concluded in short order.

Our new space is significantly larger than the old one and encompasses offices on two sides of the building.  We will finally have our own meeting room as well as the space we needed to conduct our regular operations, and we will be able to fold the increase in rent into our current budget.

Moving day was Saturday, June 24th.  We'll be having an open house as soon as we're settled.  Watch for your invitation.
