Many of Cardille's friends from the early days of Studio Wrestling and Chiller Theater were there along with a long list of musical acts. Proceeds benefited Bill's long-time friends at the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Last month, the AFTRA Pittsburgh Board voted unanimously to create the Bill Cardille Award for Service to Broadcasting, the Community and AFTRA. This award will be given as warranted to AFTRA members whose dedication and service reach the highest levels. President Paul Martino was on stage to present the first award to a surprised and visibly moved Bill Cardille. Click here to hear Paul Martino's presentation. Audio courtesy of WJAS Radio.

Cardille was named AFTRA's TV Personality of the Year and inducted in the AFTRA's Hall of Fame in 1979, and Bill was inducted into the Pennsylvania Broadcaster Hall of Fame in 1997. The salute to Cardille, was a star-studded event featuring Jimmy Beaumont and The Skyliners, Walt Maddox, The Marcels, Harold Betters and many others.
