PITTSBURGH (September 3, 2007) The day started out a bit foggy as the early risers made their way in to town. But that didn't last. The day couldn't have been more brilliant as AFTRA's largest turnout in years marched in Pittsburgh's Labor Day parade. President Paul Martino, Vice-President David Early, Secretary Barbara Boylan and Treasurer/National Board member Mark Roberts led the huge contingent of broadcasters and actors.
The parade followed the now-familiar route from the Mellon Arena to Grant Street to the Boulevard of the Allies. There was a large contingent of station vehicles manned by AFTRA Broadcasters, and a fine showing of freelancerss, including some of the city's best-known actors and voice talent.
This year for the first time ever, the AFTRANs met after the march on the 14th floor pool deck of the AFTRA building and started a new Labor Day tradition with picnic foods, libations and a full-on pool party

Members, family and friends enjoyed a near-perfect day. If you didn't make it this year, you missed a great time. We'll do it again next year, and hope it will be even bigger!
Thanks to Dave "The Party King" Flick, Nancy Barron, John Haer, Chris Lacey and all the others who helped make the day spectacular.
