PITTSBURGH (July 8, 2008)The members of the recently formed Metro bargaining unit have voted, and the proposed AFTRA Agreement has been unanimously ratified by the membership, according to John Haer, AFTRA Pittsburgh Executive Director. July 8, 2008, stands as the official ratification date and the first effective date for new contract terms, including pay raises.
Metro management has been oficially notified, and in the next week or two, the Company and AFTRA will draw up a formal document for signature by the parties. A copy of the new agreement will be provided to all covered employees. Shortly, Metro members will receive a packet from AFTRA regarding membership and dues information. Haer congratulated the members of our newest unit, saying, "I want to thank each and every one of you for your determination to stick together and work this out, especially our committee folks".
Welcome to AFTRA, Metro Pittsburgh.
