PITTSBURGH (July 1, 2010) In a secret ballot election conducted June 30th by the National Labor Relations Board, the reporters and anchors at WTAE-TV voted for representation by AFTRA, the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. The election was held at the studios of WTAE-TV and a majority of those voting said "yes" to union representation. Twenty members of the unit cast their ballots, while the other three were on vacation and unable to be present for the vote. The successful outcome of the election marks a return to AFTRA for the WTAE-TV unit, after thirteen years of working without the benefit of union representation.
